In Acorn our focus this half term has been Winter. As well as taking some wintry listening and watching walks in the garden and drawing and painting birds, we have focused on what the animals and birds might do to survive in Winter . We made our own bird feeders, which proved a very good excuse to see how it felt squashing the seeds and nuts into fat(!), before hanging them in the school garden. The children have also become experts at identifying bird songs! Definitely some young ornithologists in the making.
