You may have just watched the PM's briefing on the tightened coronavirus restrictions, which take effect from tomorrow, Tuesday 5 January. You will appreciate, therefore, that we are reacting rapidly to provide some measure of clarity for tomorrow morning, but that we have had little time to create a thorough plan.
In response, the main school will not be open tomorrow for Reception and Years 1 to 6. Remote Education will begin on Wednesday 6 January. Please bear with us as we take tomorrow to allow staff to reset and prepare for this short notice change. More instructions about online lessons will follow from your class teacher tomorrow.
From Wednesday 6 January we will be able to make provision for vulnerable pupils and the children of critical key workers. We assume that these pupils will attend for the full teaching day, which has been adjusted during the new lockdown to run from 08.30 to 15.30. If applicable, please complete a response, via the form sent every Wednesday to parents by email.
As nursery provision can continue, Acorn will be open as planned, from the usual time.
Please be advised that this situation may change and we will give you as much notice as possible. However, we would like to reassure you that we have all the protective measures required in place to deliver the nursery provision safely.
We will be able to provide a school lunch tomorrow for Nursery Pupils but thereafter would ask you to provide a packed lunch. In order to minimise the number of staff on site we will not be able to provide any meals. Please ensure, therefore, that from Wednesday 6th January your child arrives with a packed lunch and any required snacks.
We feel it important to make one change to enhance the safety of both staff and pupils, which is to request that everybody wears a face covering at drop-off and pick-up time.
Please contact the school office if you have questions, email@example.com . Alternately should you have an urgent question tomorrow please contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org (although questions will be answered in order of receipt).
