Botanists of Airthrie

Alder had a busy morning, working as scientists to dissect flowers and identify the male and female parts. Once the flowers were magnified, Alder were able to find the anther, filament, stigma and style. The class went on to discuss the function of each part of the flower and record their findings.

Alder class will be examining plants in their environment this weekend to see can they remember the names of the different parts in a flower and the roles they play.
