Airthrie children began the third cross country fixture held at Cheltenham College Preparatory with enthusiasm.
Megan was the first to run for the Y5 girls, running steadily for the first lap and picking up her pace for the second lap; improving her position from 14th to a fine 9th place.
Next came the team of Y5 boys. Once again they all set out at a steady pace, with Archie and Benjamin making progress and gradually overtaking runners to improve their finishing positions. Ben Jacobs picked up the pace for the last 100 m and finished strongly. All three boys ran a determined race with fast finishes over the last few metres.
Jemima was our lone Y6 girl and set off at a good pace to have a position near the front of the field. She ran steadily throughout the race and by continually pushing her pace throughout the last section of the course maintained a finish in the top 10 with another 9th position for our Airthrie girls.
Will Pacey was another lone runner from Airthrie for the Y6 boys. He ran well for the two laps and also showed that he can pick up his pace for a fast finish.
Well done to all our runners and the brilliant support from the parents and family who attended, including one actor!
