The Glittering Prizes

Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts,

During this year’s highly successful  Festival, no less than fifteen awards of Gold and Silver were achieved by the enthusiastic participants.  In some instances, Airthrie achieved both the Gold and the Silver award for the category.   All of the staff congratulate the pupils for their obvious hard work and preparation enabling them to achieve so highly in their various categories.  There is no doubt that they presented themselves with great confidence and performed  well on the day.  Very Well Done to one and all!    In celebration assembly today, pupils proudly reported the following successes:

Music:

Sofia was awarded both Gold and Silver medals for solo piano performances.

Zoe was awarded the first place Cup for piano solo and Silver for a piano duet.

Peter was awarded the Silver in the same under-nine piano solo category.

Arabella was awarded a Distinction in piano solo under-eleven years.

Josie was awarded Silver for piano duet under-eleven years and Bronze for solo piano.

Eleanor was awarded both Silver in piano duet and Honours for piano solo.

Will was awarded Silver in piano solo under-eight years.

Ben was awarded Honours  for solo piano in both the under-nine year and under-ten year categories.


Performance:

Eva was awarded Silver in modern ballet and Bronze in Classical Ballet.

Charlotte was awarded a Distinction of 82% for Ballet solo.

Poppy achieved Honours in solo Acting,

In addition to her excellent piano performance Arabella was also awarded Bronze for solo Dance.
