Young Voices 2016

14/01/2016

Yesterday, 17 of our Year 5 and 6 pupils performed with over 6,000 other primary school children at the LG Arena, Birmingham. We set off from School at 11:15am and weren't back until 11pm so it was a very long but very enjoyable day of singing! Our favourite songs were the pop medley, Lightning Tree and Power in Me.

The guest stars were Tom Billington (a singer who has toured the world performing with bands such as The Killers and Razorlight) who sang Life on Mars in tribute to David Bowie, and Laura Wright (the official anthem singer for the 2015 Rugby World Cup). It was amazing to be able to join in with a rendition of World in Union with an opera singer!

The children also really enjoyed the street dancers and the beat-box trio especially when the parents were taught how to join in.

A great day out for all pupils, teachers and parents involved.
