Year 6 Pottery Workshop

"It made me feel cool and tickled me at the same time" - Lily

"Disgusting and juicy!" - Phoebe

"Very satisfying" - Emma

Once again, Airthrie were delighted to welcome Mr Neil Alcock from The Vineyard Pottery to work with the Year 6 pupils. They children carefully manipulated the clay to make a vase on the potter's wheel and also produced an individual Greek tile. This practical session was linked to the pupils' studies on Ancient Greece.

The pots and tiles have been taken back to Mr Alcock's studio to be fired and will be returned to School next term for the children to decorate in their Art lessons.

Mrs Elliott and Mrs Hart took video footage and plenty of photographs which the Year 6 pupils will use to make their own short film in their Computing lessons later this year.

Well done, everyone!
