Hockey Club takes place during the Autumn and Spring Terms on Thursdays after School.  Practices are held on Cheltenham Ladies' College astro pitch.

The Club is open to all children from Year 4 to Year 6.  Individual skills practice leads towards small group games.  Children are introduced to the positional play required in seven a-side hockey.  This younger age group play within a mixed boys' and girls' team, and play two fixtures during each term of the Hockey season.

Progression follows to the Year 5 and 6 squad.  Girls' Hockey takes priority during the Autumn term, leaving Boys' hockey the priority sport for the Spring term.  Skills are developed during further individual practises and drills in addition to tactical and positional awareness for the match.  There is further emphasis on team work and match preparation.

Both Girls' and Boys' teams represent Airthrie during their respective terms.  The Under 11 teams hold fixtures against local schools and enters GHA and ISA tournaments on a regular basis. Liaison between school and club hockey is strong and a significant number of players are encouraged to join junior hockey clubs.

Previously, Airthrie entered the inaugural ISA Boys' and Girls' Tournaments, which are held at Lee Valley, The Olympic Hockey Stadium.
