My first full time teaching post was as a Class Teacher at Foxmoor Primary School in Stroud. During my time there, I was a Class Teacher for Years 3-6 as well as Music Co-ordinator for the whole school. I then moved to St Mary's Junior School, Prestbury, as a Year 5 Class Teacher and Music Co-ordinator.
Since having children, I have been teaching oboe and music theory at the Cheltenham Ladies’ College. I also taught piano at The Richard Pate School for several years.
I encourage all my pupils to take every opportunity to perform and many have won medals in the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts on both piano and oboe.
Since joining Airthrie in September 2016 I am back in the classroom, teaching curriculum music to Years 1-6, as well as accompanying both School Choirs on the piano and giving piano lessons.
In my spare time I perform regularly as a freelance professional oboist. I am Principal Oboe for Cheltenham Chamber Orchestra, Cheltenham Cantilena, The English Concertante and play for various local choral societies. I am also the Orchestral Manager for Cheltenham Chamber Orchestra and help organise the annual Gloucestershire Double Reed day.
