Hockey Match v St Edward's (Away)10th October 2017

Written by: Richard Wright

This was a very encouraging team performance. The girls entered this match on the back of a 7-0 win during the previous week. Confidence was high and Mr Wright focused the minds of the team by assuring them that this match may not be quite so easy.

However, the midfield started very strongly with Sophie and Sachi linking up well down the left wing in the early stages. Before long Airthrie were dominating the attacking play. The attack had particularly strong support from Sophie and three goals were scored immediately before or after the interval.

Amy and Emma were strong in defence and Charlotte was called into action to give some forceful clearing as St Edward's showed more signs of troubling the Airthrie goal in the second half.

However, no further goals were scored and the final result read:

St Edward's 0 Airthrie 3

This was the second win of the season and it was pleasing to be cheered on by our parents who had joined us to give support to the team and help with transport.
